rowanweaver II (sew), 2013, video installation, dimensions variable, 5:07 mins

The rowanweaver, in all her elegiac beauty, fabricating an entity of her essence.

An experimental film series, exemplifying how the contemporary sublime may be explored with a mystic, non-narrative work and without the use of total abstraction. The figure moves, gesturing and shifting - cutting, sewing - while the images prism between warmer and colder tones. These filters obscure, but do not overshadow the female ritualist as she executes her craft with an otherworldly disposition.
